Fahri Diner, Partner, Sigma Partners
Fahri joined Sigma Partners in 2006 after a 15-year entrepreneurial
career in the high-tech industry with a career spanning responsibilities
in engineering, product management, marketing, and executive
management. Fahri was the founder, president, and CEO of Qtera
Corporation where he led Qtera to its acquisition by Nortel
Networks acquired the company for $3.25 billion. He continued
to lead Qtera as president of the wholly-owned subsidiary until
2001. Before Qtera, Fahri was a member of the executive team
at Siemens where he managed the optical networks business unit
in North America, later spun-off as Optisphere Networks.
Prior to Siemens, Fahri led Pirelli's pioneering activities
in the optical amplifier and Wavelength Division Multiplexing
(WDM) markets which was later acquired by Cisco Systems for
$2.15 billion. Fahri founded Concept Ventures in 2005
by acquiring a portion of the assets of Applied Materials Ventures
in which he served as Managing Director. Fahri holds a BSEE
degree from Florida Institute of Technology. |

Jim Hogan, Independent Investor
Jim is a private investor serving on several boards as a director.
He has worked in the semiconductor industry for over three decades.
His experience includes time as a senior executive in electronic
design automation, semiconductor intellectual property, semiconductor
equipment, and fabrication companies. Most recently, Jim
was a Managing Partner at Telos Venture Partners in 2004.
He has held a variety of executive positions at several public
companies; Senior VP of business development at Artisan Components,
Senior VP of business development and the senior member of the
Office of Chief Technologist at Cadence. Jim was a Cadence
Executive Fellow and held several positions at Cadence including
President of Cadence Japan, Corporate VP of marketing, and Corporate
VP of field operations. He was also CTO of Smart Machines, Inc.,
a semiconductor equipment automation company. Jim worked
for National Semiconductor for 10 years and for Philips. At
both companies, he established device physics laboratories globally.
Jim holds a BA degree in mathematics, a BS degree in computer
science and an MBA all from San Jose State University. |

Julien Nguyen, Managing Director, Concept Ventures
Julien has 25 years of operational, entrepreneur and early stage
information technology investment experience. He founded Applied
Materials Ventures in 2001 and Concept Ventures in 2005, and
has focused his investments on early stage startups in digital
media, communications, semiconductors, software and services.
Prior to his venture capital activities, Julien was part of
the founding team for four startups: Ezlogin (acquired by 724
Solutions), Novita Communications (acquired by Planetweb), E-Motions
(acquired by Sigma Designs), and Radius (IPO). Julien also serves
on the board of Grandis, Takumi, and Sigma Designs (NASDAQ:SIGM).
Julien holds an MS degree from Ecole Polytechnique in France
and a Post Graduate degree from Telecom Paris. |

Steven White, President & CEO, SV Solar
Steve has founded two successful software compaies. In
1987, he co-founded Logic Modeling Systems and served as its
VP and GM up to 1992 when it was acquired by Synopsys where
he served as VP of design verification. In 1996, Steve
fouded 0-In Design Automation and was President and CEO until
2004 when it was acquired by Mentor Graphics, where he served
as GM of advanced functional verification until 2007.

Sharon Zohar, Founder, Envis
Sharon Zohar is a successful entrepreneur with more than 20
years of executive management and design experience in semiconductors
and electronic industry. He founded Envis (then named Envision
Technology) and served as the CEO and President until November
2007. Previously, Sharon was the Vice President of intellectual
property at eSilicon Corporation. Zohar joined eSilicon through
its acquisition of Sycon Design, where he was a co-founder and
served as CEO. Sharon was previously in the IBM’s PowerPC
group, which developed innovative design technology eventually
used in the IBM PowerPC’s. Prior to IBM, Sharon
was a member of the original Pentium design team at Intel, where
he also held management and design responsibilities for many
other processor and communication devices. Sharon holds
a bachelor degree from the Technion Institute of Technology
and holds numerous patents in semiconductor design, power reduction,
as well as navigation system in electronics. |
